Bisham Nest Box Group

Our boxes are built using designs based on those recommended by the Barn Owl Trust, Hawk and Owl Trust, RSPB, BTO and others. The different species have different nesting and brood characteristics and these are reflected in the designs. The owl boxes are fitted with hatches for clearing out any jackdaw/squirrel nests in the winter. (note: Barn Owls are a specially protected species and their boxes may only be approached by BTO-licensed researchers).

The garden bird, hedgehog and bat boxes are available to collect on Wednesday mornings from our base in Winter Hill Road, Cookham Dean SL6 6PJ, or at other times/locations by prior arrangement. They are also available in kit form for assembly by adults and supervised children. We will bring kits along to schools, scout groups, wildlife groups etc. and provide assembly guidance. Minimum number of participants is 10. Contact us for further information.

The owl and raptor boxes and the swift boxes need to be correctly sited and are best installed by us. Please contact us for advice on suitability of local habitat and location of the box. We are happy to visit to advise and also to install these if you are within  ten miles of Bisham. There is a modest extra charge for this (see price list).

Please note that we don't have the resources to operate outside our immediate area or to offer mail order box sales or installation further afield.
