We are a small, not-for-profit volunteer group making nest boxes for garden birds, owls, raptors, swifts, hedgehogs, bats and bees. We just ask for a donation to cover the cost of the materials.

About

BNBG is a voluntary group established in 2014 to encourage the population of Barn Owl and other declining species in our area. We now make a big range of different types of boxes, all sold at cost. We are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), Reg No 1166818. Our base is near Bisham, Berkshire

Projects

In 2021 we worked in conjunction with local wildlife group Wild Marlow to provide a nesting platform for a pair of Peregrine Falcons which had taken up residence on the spire of All Saints Church, Marlow. The birds quickly adopted this breeding space and successfully raised three youngsters in 2021. You can see video footage here.

In 2015 we were approached by a new local bird conservation group, The Maidenhead Marlow and Cookham Swift Group,

www.helpourswifts.org.uk, who started an initiative to provide nest sites for endangered swifts in response to the demolition of a Maidenhead hotel .......

Events

Our annual HOMES FOR WILDLIFE events are held at Braywick Nature Centre during early spring in conjunction with Wild Maidenhead. The next date will be in 2025. You will be able to see and order our range of boxes for garden birds, owls, swifts, bats hedgehogs and bees.

There will also be the family nest-box-building session, very popular with children. Kits of parts will cost just £5 and you will be able to take  home the finished box for your garden.

The event will be open from 10.00 am until noon. The Centre is located in Hibbert Road, Maidenhead SL6 1UU
